Mega-info Media releases its semi-annual report: The first growth curve consolidates the foundation, the second growth curve gains momentum, and AI assists in business expansion

Release Time:2023-10

On August 25, Mega-info Media (301102.SZ), known as “China’s first stock of digital media targeting high-speed rail”, unveiled its 2023 half-year report. In the first half of 2023, Mega-info Media maintained its strong growth momentum, achieving a total operating income of RMB255.03 million and a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of RMB 68.90 million, marking a 2.16% increase from the same period last year. The second growth curve constructed by Mega-info Media is providing effective support, and the deployment of AI technology in content creation is opening up vast commercial opportunities.

As the Chinese economy continues its recovery and offline travel scenarios resume, railway passenger traffic repeatedly sets new all-time highs, providing favorable conditions for the development of outdoor media. In the first half of 2023, Mega-info Media added 21 new stations for media placement and conducted media optimization at 23 existing stations. Newly acquired clients include Da Yao, Power Dekor, Hisense, Sunfeel Jewelry, and more. Mega-info Media is continuously expanding its portfolio of high-quality clients, broadening the range of industries the clients operate in, optimizing client structure, and strengthening its own capabilities and service efficiency, all for the goal of enhancing client stickiness.

Having firmly consolidated its business of high-speed rail digital media advertising, Mega-info Media now possesses a second growth curve business providing effective support.

Mega-info Media is actively expanding its outdoor digital media business into urban business districts, facilitating ongoing improvements in the industry chain, and continually exploring the value of media in business districts. This business has already covered core urban business districts in popular cities, such as Guangzhou’s Tianhe Road business district, Taiyuan’s Qinxian Street business district, Guiyang’s Fountain Pool business district, Chengdu’s Taikoo Li & IFS business district, and Chongqing’s Guanyin Bridge business district. These large outdoor screens are located in popular urban business districts nationwide, holding a prominent position with substantial foot traffic and significant influence.

“Advertisement placement primarily concentrates in the second half of the year, especially during summer vacations, the National Day holiday, and year-end shopping festivals. From a medium to long-term perspective, the recovery in daily consumption, as well as industries like new energy vehicles, can bring opportunities of price raising and expansion to outdoor advertising,” noted Guotai Junan. As the outdoor video advertising industry is currently in good shape, leading outdoor media enterprises like Mega-info Media are expected to initiate a new upturn in the business cycle.
