Battery Science & Technology builds distributed photovoltaic power generation system to promote green factory and ESG practices

Release Time:2023-06

With the coming of trucks of raw materials, the 1.1MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project of Tianjin Battery Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Battery Science & Technology), located in Jinghai District of Tianjin, was kicked off recently in a bid to wholly promote the "Green Factory" development and ESG practice.

Relying on Battery Science & Technology's pilot factory for new energy automobiles recycling and reuse in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, a distributed photovoltaic power generation system with a total installed capacity of 1.1MW will be established on roofs of existing plants of the company, which generates and consumes power by itself with the surplus put on the grid. Upon its completion, the system will generate 1.13 million kWh of green power each year, saving around 349t of standard coal, and reducing the emission of 947t of carbon dioxide and 0.46t of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.

As a high-tech subsidiary of Luen Mei Group devoted to the recycling of power batteries, Battery Science & Technology is committed to establishing a closed loop of the whole life-cycle industry chain of power batteries, focusing on the gradual utilization and recycling of power batteries, building an ecological chain of battery financial services and recycling, and forming a unique and innovative development model.

Since its inception, Battery Science & Technology has adhered to a green and low-carbon development, upheld the "green production + intelligent manufacture" philosophy, and actively implemented the ESG and "Green Factory" practices, thus continuing its innovation in green technologies. Thanks to its leading technology of charged physical dismantling of retired power batteries, Battery Science & Technology has been included in the white list of power battery gradient utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and become a key maker of national standards for power battery recycling, which has drafted 8 national standards. Battery Science & Technology's core patent of multi-level utilization and "dried" dismantling utilization of power batteries enables physical crushing without power discharging. With the entire production line set in a closed environment and the emitted gas treated the RTO way, it realizes an automated control, produces no wastewater, and performs centralized disposal of exhaust, thus truly idealizing resource use, recovering carbon and eliminating pollution.

The construction of the distributed photovoltaic power generation system of Battery Science & Technology this time will not only significantly improve the utilization efficiency of electricity and the comprehensive operation efficiency, but also further promote the "green factory" development and ESG practice.
